My gut has been amazing lately! No bloating or pains! Happy tummy = happy me! Haha! If you experience any IBS or tummy troubles (bloating, pain, gas etc) I highly recommend getting a food sensitivity blood test done from a Doc or a good naturopath or holistic health coach. It helped me SO much and by removing those foods I was able to heal my tummy and build up my gut microbiota which is trillions of microorganisms that live in our gut including 1000 different species of known bacteria & 3 million genes! If our good & bad bacteria becomes imbalanced there can be a number of problems which include pains, bloating, malabsorption of vitamins, disruption of our immune system, digestion problems etc. . Strengthening and growing my glutes has been a personal goal of mine for quite some time and I have to say I've never been stronger throughout my posterior chain or had more shape in my glutes than I do now! What has really helped strengthen and grow my glutes the most is doing glute activation exercises before training my legs & butt. They switch the glutes on and get them ready to work so I can perform squats, deadlifts, lunges etc. correctly. A lot of people have weak glutes because they spend a lot of time sitting down which switches off the glutes and this can lead to an anatomical imbalance with dominant quads and therefore alter the pelvic position. This puts a lot of pressure on the lower back, hips, knees, feet and so on. Everything is connected so if something isn’t in alignment we usually feel it in many places throughout the body. My favourite glute activation exercises are: Side band walks, monster walks, band squats, clams, band glute bridges, and standing band kickbacks. I also love single leg glute bridges and hip thrusts. I love using a band to work on lateral hip stability, pelvic control and general mobility of the hips and these exercises work on the abduction and engagement of the Gluteal Group. The hip is multi-directionl which means it moves in 3 planes of motion, the sagittal, transverse and frontal plane. When training the hip and activation the glutes the key is to ensure it functions well in all directions. Adding the band creates a challenge to reactively stabilise and control all 3 planes of motion, firing up those glutes just the little bit more! . Time for "me time" in the sun! It's so important to have this time to relax either on your own or with your loved ones. . If we don't force ourselves to stop and take time out we can end up getting very run down and stressed and this can lead to illness. - I've been there many times. So I've made it a priority to have this "time out" for myself and I've been feeling so much better! Health and happiest should be a priority I think. How can we take care of anyone else or be our best for our loved ones if we don't take care of ourselves first? . P.S. We seem to use self criticisms as a way to get ourselves to make changes. I think we were introduced to it from a young age and now it’s carried out into our adulthood. If we dislike something about ourselves bad enough we’re more likely to make changes, but criticising ourselves isn’t going to help us. I don’t believe being cruel and harsh to ourselves is best way to get ourselves to make positive changes. Sending out “hate” is unlikely to bring us “love” back. We need to show self compassion, self acceptance and self love - we have to make an effort to DO more of what we want in our life. Practice being kinder to ourselves and if there’s something we don’t like about ourselves then we work out a way to change it BECAUSE we love ourselves not because we hate ourselves.. and if we can’t change something then learning to accept it is necessary I believe. Focus on the things that are "right" with us - all the good things and stop dwelling on the things that we can’t change. Everybody has things about themselves they dislike that can’t be changed. We’ll always feel miserable if we let those things take over our thoughts because then they may end up working their way into our lives and consuming us. I’ve experienced that before and have been in a place of constant negativity. Everywhere I looked things appeared negative and I felt incredibly down. Allowing negativity to blind us and consume us is like opening the flood gates - everything looks and feels negative. There will always be people out there who criticise us and a lot of the time there is nothing we can do about it except try not to let them affect us. The worst thing we can do is constantly criticise ourselves. When these criticisms come from ourselves we actually believe those horrible things about ourselves and it’s difficult do anything in life when we feel that way - let alone be happy! Learn to be at peace with ourselves, to show love and acceptance to ourselves and stop being so damn hard on ourselves. Live is hard enough without being unkind to ourselves so I think it’s time we cut ourselves some slack and started showing ourselves some compassion. . 50% off my FIT Program - link in bio!

I know I'm standing a little differently but I found this pic of me on the left from about 6 years ago & the one of the right from this year. Growing a bit of a booty is something I've been working on for a while now. Not just to have more "shape" but more importantly to have a stronger posterior chain so I'm not so quad dominant. It's helped my posture a lot and I feel much more balanced and strong. Making changes and reaching goals takes a lot of commitments and hard work but with consistency we get there. It's all about celebrating and appreciating those small changes along the way and reflecting on how far we've come! Always appreciate the little things and be proud of yourself! First morning waking in my own bed! Feels so good! I had a solid 11 hours sleep last night after travelling for over 24 hours and got up at 6 to have a lemon & ginger tea. It's a great way to get your digestive system working and ready for food! . I've been filming vlogs for the past few weeks and I'm almost finished the first 2. My Healthy eating + exercise Program - LINK IN BIO . There are many different ways to become "fit, strong, healthy, lean etc" I personally prefer to be very flexible and relaxed with my meals. I don't track anything and never have and I listen to my body. I eat a variety of fresh unprocessed foods and I have "treats" when I feel like it. For me it's all about how my body and mind "feels". The amount of calories I eat doesn't concern me, I care more about what my body does with those calories; how it processes them, what effect it has on my body & organs and how well my body absorbs nutrients. I personally don't want to spend my life counting calories or tracking macros as I feel it causes me to be too "obsessive" and it doesn't feel like a life for me. That's just me though! - Some people love tracking and being structured with their meals - It's all about what works for the individual and what they can maintain. If eating a particular food makes you bloat or feel sick or lethargic then it's probably a good idea to consider removing it from your diet or eating less of it. At the end of the day your "lifestyle" should be something you can maintain & something you enjoy. Sometimes when people are new to a "healthy lifestyle" being structured & tracking calories and macros works well for them then they might become less structured the more they learn about what works for them. It's good to change things up too & have your "healthy lifestyle" evolve! That way you don't get bored. One thing I do recommend is doing a lot of your OWN research & not just listening to one person's opinion. If this is a lifestyle for you & what you're doing feels good & you can maintain it then it's right for you! - I never claim that my lifestyle is the "only way" & I respect everyone's different opinions, lifestyle choices and beliefs. I love sharing what I have experienced and what works for me & thousands of ladies who have taken on my advice but at the end of the day you've got to find out for yourself what's best for you. . Lifting weights has given me more than physical strength, it's given me a confidence I'd never had before. I used to have twig legs - which isn't bad mind you, but I always wanted to have more shape & strength & now I do! Lifting weights changes and shapes your body more than you can imagine! Relying on cardio alone in order to get toned isn't going to give you the results you want. Remember the more muscle you have the more fat you burn! You won't get bulky either so don't be scared to lift weights ladies! Team strength training with plenty of nutritious food to get toned! Under eating or spending endless hours doing cardio is not the best or healthiest way! Take it from me, I've tried it! - Let's just say I'll never trade my weights for a treadmill! . . Tag someone you think needs to read the following: . Are you frustrated because you're not where you want to be in your life, career or fitness progress? Ask yourself: "Am I doing everything in my power to get there? Could I be doing more?" . If I'm unhappy about where I am but I'm not doing everything I can to change it then I don't believe I have a right to whinge about it. We get out what we put in and it's not just about working hard, it's about working smart, taking up opportunities when they're presented, putting yourself out there and getting extremely uncomfortable. Nothing comes easy and it definitely won't come to you if you're not putting 100% into it. You have to work your butt off every single day for the things you want. If you're not prepared to do that then you don't really want it. It's as simple as that. . If you don't take action then don't complain about not being where you want to be. . . . - This is what I have told myself for years. . I have worked hard for many years now, I pick myself up every single time I fail, I'm rejected or I'm knocked down. I don't take "no" for an answer - I always find a way. I take every single opportunity that comes my way and I also create opportunities. I do things other people don't and most importantly I'm not afraid to fail and have many, many times. . Get out of your comfort zone, want it more than you're afraid of it, do everything in your power to achieve what you want, adjust when you need to and don't stop until you get it. . I know I don't have a big boootttaaay compared to a lot of people but it's not about that! I have managed to strengthen my whole posterior chain and can now activate my glutes properly and improved my squat and deadlift technique 10 fold. Glute activation is so important when performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, lunges etc. and gives us not only strength but a better posture and anatomical balance which means less pain and injuries. I just did a quick mini tutorial on my snap chat ( emilyskyefit ) but I'm thinking of doing a proper squat and deadlift tutorial? Would you want to see that? I just know it took me so long to be able to get my glutes firing properly and it's what has given my butt some shape so I'd love to share what I know with you if it's what you want. So tutorial?? My 28 Day & 12 Week Meal & Exercise ProgramsLINK IN BIO! ~ With working out and eating healthy the start is always the hardest and scariest - this can also apply to most things in life. Once you get past the first week or 2 you'll start becoming addicted (in a good way) and you'll want to keep going. You'll start feeling and seeing changes and won't want to stop! Stop procrastinating and get yourself into "robot mode" and just start, then be consistent. Lots of small steps add up!! You'll fall inlove with the lifestyle soon enough. Usually the "thought" of something is worse than what it actually is and that's what causes us to procrastinate so much. I'm just getting myself back on track now with some more structure and these are the things I tell myself because I know how great I feel when I do workout and eat nutritious food consistently! "Feel the fear and do it anyway!" We can do it!.
Even though it's winter, for the past couple of days I've pulled out my bikinis and spent time in the sun and feel SO much better. As some of you may already know, I was in a bit of a rut a few weeks ago but I've made a lot of changes to help myself. I know that if I'm not happy doing what I'm doing now then it's up to me to make changes. So I did. Yes they were uncomfortable at first but each day I start feeling happier and healthier. . One of the changes I've made is getting up earlier even if I go to bed at a ridiculous hour. I need to create a healthier routine than the one I had where I'd go to bed at 4am and get up at midday. We're not supposed to be sleeping when the sun is up high in the sky (that rhymes haha) - It's true though! I'm also getting more sun as I said before. I realised I hadn't had sun in months so it was no wonder I felt crappy. We need sun on our skin so we can absorb vitamin D - Of course we all know the damage the sun can do so I'm only spending roughly 30 mins in the sun. I'm feeling on top of the world! . If you're feeling crappy know that things can get better but it's up to you to make changes.. take control of the things you CAN control!
